TOY PROGRAM
Our club has a long tradition of making toys and donating them to children. Over the years we have literally made and given away tens of thousands of toys.
Currently we are providing toys to Ronald McDonald House,
SAY San Diego, Foundation for Women Warriors, and
Operation Christmas Child.

"Cut - outs"
One of our most popular club activities is making and donating "cut-outs" (pine that is "cut-out" on the scrollsaw into simple shapes). Patterns for cut-outs include pets like dogs and cats, farm animals like ducks and sheep and cows,...pretty much any animal shape that kids might like to play with. Dinosaurs are also pretty popular!
The club provides free wood to club members to make "cut-outs". See more
During the San Diego County Fair, at the Design In Wood Exhibition, our club members - in conjunction with another local scrollsaw club (the Seaside Scrollers) - demonstrate how to use a scrollsaw by making and giving away "cut-outs" to Fair visitors. Club members can access the patterns in the Members Only section.
We are also making puzzles for our Toy Program. Pattern designer Tomer Markowitz was kind enough to give our club permission to use his Dinosaur Puzzle pattern. The pattern can be used to make a free-standing puzzle or it can be adapted to make a more traditional puzzle that fits in a frame. Club members can access the pattern in the Members Only section.
Please remember that permission was only granted for us to use this pattern for making puzzles to donate to charity, and not for making puzzles to sell. Tomer and his partners have a business selling his projects on Etsy.

Kids love playing with these toy hippos and they are also a lot of fun to make as well. As the toy rolls along, the head lifts up and then quickly closes with a "chomping" sound.
Club members can access the pattern in the Members Only section.
FYI - With the exception of most orders placed with Bear Woods with the discount code CUTUPS (for which our club receives a small fee), any links on our website to outside firms, organizations or other entities are included only to make it convenient for you to access more information about the subject at hand, and our club does not have any financial interest in whether or not you follow any of these links or whether or not you buy anything through these links (in cases where there are products available for purchase).
